The Ice Cream Story

Established in 2018 by the Autry family, Mountains Ice Cream has been serving up old-fashioned, hand-scooped ice cream to the Rome, Georgia community. In early 2024, Mountains Ice Cream reopened with a new store front, a new look, and new ownership. Matthew Ackley, as the new majority owner, ensures that this beloved local ice cream shop remains a family affair and continues to thrive in the heart of Rome.

Dedicated to community support, Mountains Ice Cream regularly partners with and donates to local schools, demonstrating a strong commitment to giving back. A favorite among locals, the shop has been proudly voted Rome’s Best Ice Cream multiple times, celebrated for its wide variety of flavors and nostalgic charm.
