Our Story
Family owned, and scooping up Rome’s favorites since 2018
Established in 2018 by the Autry family, Mountains Ice Cream has been serving up old-fashioned, hand-scooped ice cream to the Rome, Georgia community. In early 2024, ownership transitioned to Matthew Ackley and Ryan Autry (both Rome natives), ensuring that this beloved local ice cream shop remains a family affair and continues to thrive in the heart of Rome.
Dedicated to community support, Mountains Ice Cream regularly partners with and donates to local schools, demonstrating a strong commitment to giving back. A favorite among locals, the shop has been proudly voted Rome’s Best Ice Cream multiple times, celebrated for its wide variety of flavors and nostalgic charm.
